Amanda Bossard, fresh out of Anchorage High School 1992 began studying marine biology. Bossard began her career as a seafood commercial worker in the year 1999. She began to work on the F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner and was later converted into a Salmon tender, for Murat Aritan, who worked in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard and Aritan are now married and are working together to stake their claim to their industry. They both believe in conservation and maximizing the use of sustainable resources within the seafood industry. Otolith has opened its market direct wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia in the year Bossard was able to return from at home with her daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1, and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. In 2007, Bossard mother of two children Bella, age 3, and Andre 1. She returned to Philadelphia from her native Canada, opened Otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard along with her son Andre and Isabella, her daughter Isabella will be returning back to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands for the wild salmon harvest. The two-month period is when Bossard and Isabella use hooks & lines to catch their target salmon. Aritan will then sell their catch to local processors.
